Hi and welcome to Goldplacer.com! My name is Ted Scott and I hope you enjoy your stay here and return frequently as new material is always being added. I'm relatively new to gold prospecting and the hobby of nuggetshooting or electronic prospecting which is my preferred method of recovering placer gold. Check out my gear page to see the equipment I like to use while out in the field. Other forms of prospecting are also rewarding and that is why we feature all methods of recovery here at Goldplacer.com. Check out our blogs and click around the main site.

If you have questions regarding this website or desire to contribute in some way to this website or participate in the blogs, please contact me at:

I will consider all ideas for articles pertaining to nuggetshooting, gold prospecting, placer geology, location history and more or less anything to do with gold mining. Feel free to contact me if you have an idea. Keep in mind I'm a busy guy and may take a bit of time to reply. General questions about prospecting, metal detecting and other recovery techniques, etc. would probably be best directed at one of the many internet forums on the web. Unless I have a heck of a lot of time, which I don't, that will probably be the answer anyway. If you are looking for placer gold locations, see our articles on known placer fields. If that's not enough (which if you're serious then it had better not be), then I'd suggest doing your own research.

All writing, photos, and original content on Goldplacer.com is the exclusive intellectual property of those who write, blog or in some way contribute here. That means it's copyrighted. If you wish to use any of the original material on goldplacer.com, ask permission. The authors and bloggers here work very hard to write the material. Be respectful and don't steal.

Some of the material you will find on goldplacer, such as the gold rush stories or perhaps certain government provided information, is in the public domain. That means it was made for you and me so of course, take it and use it. That is why it is there in the first place.

There are a lot of sources for material in the public domain on the web, so perhaps a suggestion is in order: Why wait for me to post it here and then copy it? Go find it for yourself.  ;-) (or not....)

Thanks,

Ted.
