My original plan for today did’nt work out, so I figured I would go revisit my 2 oz spot on Lynx, after all, it’s been 4 month’s since the last time I was there.

Well as soon as I got there I noticed more diggins in the bank and some freshly exposed bedrock, so I walked over and looked around, it looked pretty picked over, but then I noticed a nice drop point, it too was pretty clean.

After examining the drop somthing did’nt look right, the bedrock at the bottom looked odd to me, so I stuck my hand in and started feeling around, yeah there was somthing not right, it was’nt bedrock at all, but a layer of compacted gravels nearly 2 inches thick!

Who ever had clean this drop, had made the mistake of thinking hard pack was the bedrock, so I grabbed my equipment and started working this Worked Out Spot!

After only an hour or so of panning I managed to recover a good amount of flakes and fines, and even a nice detectable nugget!

So whenever I’m told a spot is Worked Out, I’m always a little skeptical until I actually test the waters myself.
