Trevor responded to a query I made on Rob’s Nugget Hunting forum and indeed, the Coiltek DD Pro Elite series will work on all the SD series detectors. He just explained that the improvements in stability were best on the models mentioned.
Others inquired as to the actual availability of these coils and Trevor mentioned that they were still in testing and that they might be available in the U.S. sometime in early 2008.

Well, not exactly. They have released one coil, the 14″ DD Pro Elite. Other popular sizes will follow. I guess it takes time to unleash these evil dogs. Anyhow, according to Coilteks release statement, we should expect to get “quieter operation and stability” in mild to heavy mineralized soil along with “heightened sensitivity and optimized response to deep targets”. “These coils go deeper” is something they have avoided saying directly. Their press release states that these coils will work with the SD2200, GP Extreme, GP 3000 and GP 3500. They state that the coils will “still operate well” with the GPX4000 but that the coils show their best performance with the earlier models.
Not the SD2100 apparently. Has Coiltek left SD2100 users out in the cold? There is NO mention of the SD2100 in the release materials. We shall see…

Everyone is by now familiar with the now famous Walco Pick Fracas which spawned many comments and speculative remarks. People complained, threatened to cease posting on certain forums and the row even caused the deletion of a forum post regarding the subject.
In a new, yet equally stirring development for Arizona Outback, Johnathan Porter of Aurum Australis, famous for his mega nugget finds and video series on the Minelab GP series detectors has announced to his Australian customers via the AZO forum that U.S. entity Arizona Outback has opted to dissolve their business relationship with Aurum Australis! As a result, Aurum Australis will no longer carry the Arizona Outback range of detecting accessories. A blow to the prospecting industry to be certain. Jonathan Porter however insures his customers that “All detecting DVDs including The Outback Prospector 1, 2 & 3 as well as NuggetHunting Essentials* Vol 1 & 2 (*Australia only) will remain available direct from us. ” Those that wish to get or perhaps even require further clarification of this situation from Aurum Australis will have to wait 10-12 days while Jonathan buttons up his 10 week stint “in the bush”.
Of course, no other substantive details as to why this termination took place have been revealed by Jonathan.
Chris Gholson confirmed the information and has responded in part with “….Some of the things occurring were totally inexcusable and I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, that enough was enough. ”
Well, obviously Chris is miffed about something that was being done but again, no further substantive details are available because, as Chris said, “…Spreading rumors and fueling gossip about others has never been my cup of tea. ”
Well, amen to that. That’s the thing about posts like this. They really only fuel the fire.
AZO continutes to excell in our dealer poll despite all the fracas.
