Coiltek is Busy!

Coiltek is releasing yet another series of coils in addition to the new Coiltek DD Pro Elite series, the Coiltek Goldstalker series. These coils are lightweight, open face design coils and appear to be more compact overall.

So far, Coiltek has announced an 18 1/2 x 12 inch elliptical mono coil which sports a dual shaft mount option and comes in the newer tan color. It weighs 795 grams.

Also, look for a 14 x 9 inch elliptical mono. Also in the new tan color, this one weighs in at 575 grams.

The new Goldstalker coils are designed with the Minelab GPX 4000 in mind and have heightened sensitivity. The Goldstalker’s will work on all SD and GP series detectors.

The coils are available in Australia now and should be seen stateside by March of 2008. Finally, large lightweight coils from Coiltek.

Go Coiltek!

Hope to see you there soon.

Coiltek DD Pro Elite

Trevor responded to a query I made on Rob’s Nugget Hunting forum and indeed, the Coiltek DD Pro Elite series will work on all the SD series detectors. He just explained that the improvements in stability were best on the models mentioned.

Others inquired as to the actual availability of these coils and Trevor mentioned that they were still in testing and that they might be available  in the U.S. sometime in early 2008.

Coiltek 14 DD Pro Elite
Well, not exactly. They have released one coil, the 14″ DD Pro Elite. Other popular sizes will follow. I guess it takes time to unleash these evil dogs. Anyhow, according to Coilteks release statement, we should expect to get “quieter operation and stability” in mild to heavy mineralized soil along with “heightened sensitivity and optimized response to deep targets”. “These coils go deeper” is something they have avoided saying directly. Their press release states that these coils will work with the SD2200, GP Extreme, GP 3000 and GP 3500. They state that the coils will “still operate well” with the GPX4000 but that the coils show their best performance with the earlier models.

Not the SD2100 apparently. Has Coiltek left SD2100 users out in the cold? There is NO mention of the SD2100 in the release materials. We shall see…
