Well since my last post its been rather hecktic. My partner Doc Smeton and I both knew sooner or later people were going to catch on to the fact that we were finding gold. So far this year along I’ve caught 6 different people working our claim. It only got ulgy once, but we were able to defuse it. The area we are working is not the most friendly spot but I’ve never seen calachi that was friendly. The good thing so far about the hi-graders is they are to lazy to bust their butts on the calachi so they have been working the lose material. I know the gold in the lose material is very small(-20 to -50) in size so they are not getting much and there helping me by moving the overburden. We went Saturday and worked the hole for a few hours. I was not able to take the generator or jackhammer so all the work on the calachi was by pick and digging bar. This slowed me down abit and Sunday my muscles were sore. The gold found was not a whole lot but at least we found gold in every pan. April and part of May is all that will be left of good working weather before it starts to get hot. As the heat set in, I’ll start working at nite. A good swamp cooler under an easy-up during the day keeps things somewhat cool. I do hope that within the next 3-4 trips we will have exposed the area that needs to be broken up and worked. I will keep all posted as we progress. I’ve attached a few pictures of our work space.
