Hey there, thanks for visiting Goldplacer.com!

As you can see, there are lots of changes afoot at Goldplacer.com. When I first started this site, I wasn’t sure where it was going to go. Well, it quickly outgrew the original vision and began to evolve into something different than just a personal blog for my own experiences, equipment and nugget hunting adventures.

Lately, we have had some great contributions from Bob Dunkin and Chris Ralph as well as from myself. For awhile now, I’ve been needing to convert my static pages over to html but my lack of knowlege in that area prevented me from acting. I’ve also been disatisfied with the default permalink structure in Wordpress which titled pages something like: golplacer.com/?P=17 instead of something nice like goldplacer.com/sd2100/. Well, before I knew I could change things, there was a heck of a lot of content and I don’t really know what I’m doing when it comes to programing in wordpress.

Yesterday, I tried to change the permalink structure and I ended up hosing the site compeletly. Rod helped me get out of it somewhat(thanks Rod), but it was obvious to me that it was time to make the leap and change things around a lot, learn a little html and get the blog moved off the homepage with an appropriate link structure.

I don’t and won’t have it all perfect for awhile but when it’s all said and done, it will be much better than before.

I’ll be reconstructing the blog with access to larger pictures, a better and more pleasing layout and more content as the days go by.
